Meet Raymond

"As a Retired Combat Veteran, I Believe Our Oath Never Expires. I Hope to Serve You As City Councilor."

Raymond Archibeque, Candidate for Rio Rancho City Council

My name is Raymond Archibeque, my friends call me “Archie”. I live and work in District 4, here, in

Rio Rancho. Although I was born in California, my roots in New Mexico stem as far back as the 1600’s. I was

blessed to have had the opportunity to relocate to Rio Rancho, here where my family has lived for the last 30 years,

in March of 2021.

Notably, I am a retired Master Gunnery Sergeant (E-9), after having served as a combat

veteran for nearly 30 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. As a 17-year-old young man, I pursued my dreams,

while the rest of my family – all in construction – moved to this area in 1991, and began helping to build

what we fondly know today, as Rio Rancho.

Having watched this city grow over the last 30 years, I now desire to bring both my experience and

education to Rio Rancho’s City Council. I hold a Master of Arts in Management and Organizational

Development, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in both, Sociology and Communications. Additionally, I

raised two handsome and successful young sons, Leo (30), who graduated from the University of Hawaii,

and Luke (23), a graduate from the University of California in Los Angeles.

Since becoming a resident of District 4, I have sadly witnessed slow economic growth and

development take its toll on our struggling city. A decline in jobs for our residents, combined with

relentless inflation, have led to a spread of homelessness and a steady increase in petty crimes. Being a

seasoned leader, I have always been active, compassionately serving within my community, regardless

of where that was (neighborhoods, schools, jobs, etc.), consciously striving to leave any setting in better

shape than when I arrived. Following the example of our greatest leader, Jesus Christ, I aim to be a true

servant of the people within this community as well. As your city councilor, I will work with YOU, to help

Rio Rancho live up to its “City of Vision” status.
